Nextcloud on RK3588: File Sync, Sharing and a Config You Can Actually Afford
Nextcloud’s default bundle runs on 8 GB devices, but small teams actually use file sync and sharing. Deploying lean makes the whole thing feel faster.
Lean deployment is the point
- Compose only the core: nextcloud + mariadb + redis; leave Office, Talk and Collectives out unless used;
- Raise PHP memory_limit to 512M and enable OPcache — large uploads then hold gigabit line rate;
- Always protect share links with passwords and expiry, behind an HTTPS reverse proxy.
For a ten-person team, RK3588 handles document sync easily — the real bottleneck is usually home upstream bandwidth.
