RK3588 Cooling Mods: Keeping All Eight Cores Boosted
RK3588 draws about 12 W at full load; passively-cooled cases hit thermal throttling under sustained load. Should you mod it? The data:
Temperature tests
- Stock passive case: 52°C case temp after 15 min full load; A76 drops to 1.8 GHz;
- +4010 silent fan: 41°C at the same load, full clocks throughout;
- Pad-to-PTM swap: another 4-6°C off the SoC;
- Airflow: bottom intake / side exhaust is best; avoid sealed cases.
