Hardware: RK3528 box + USB3 enclosure + an old 2.5″ drive;
System: Armbian + OpenMediaVault (or plain Samba);
Speed: 110 MB/s SMB over gigabit — wire speed;

Limits

Single disk, no redundancy, no bay expansion — keep another backup of anything important. As a “first NAS” for learning the concepts and validating demand, it’s ideal; upgrade to a two-bay RK3588 build once the need is proven.
