Home Karaoke on an Android Box: The Hardware List
Home karaoke has one technical core: microphone latency under 40 ms.
Hardware list
- Host: a karaoke box with a reverb DSP (e.g. X88 King series);
- Mics: a pair of UHF wireless mics (Bluetooth’s 200 ms is a dealbreaker);
- Audio: HDMI ARC back to the TV + 3.5 mm into a reverb mixer;
- Dual screen: MV on the main TV, song picker on a tablet.
Mixing settings
- Reverb at 25-35%, 120-150 ms tail depending on room size;
- Ride mic gain to 3 dB below clipping for a full voice.
Under 2,000 RMB buys ~70% of the commercial experience — plenty at home.
