RK3528 as a Soft Router: OpenWrt at Triple-Digit RMB, Tested
Soft routing doesn’t need a four-figure budget. RK3528 boards with dual gigabit pull the entry line down hard.
Measured
- NAT throughput: 940 Mbps both directions at 45% CPU;
- Plugins: AdGuard + DDNS + tunneling running together, imperceptible;
- Wi-Fi: WiFi6 doubles as a bedroom-range AP;
- Stability: 30 days uptime, zero reboots.
Positioning
Best as a side router, backup router or main router for a small rental. For whole-home 2.5 GbE or heavy plugin tinkering, step up to the RT28 or RK3588 platforms — but at this price, “enough” and “fun” can coexist.
